GADA Team Training Day Four Part Two

Murphy did wonderful on the ride home. My van makes many noises that he is not used to. The ramp coming in and out, the mechanism that locks my wheelchair in place and my electronic hand controls all have there own special sounds that he's not used to. Despite all that he was great!!  Murphy started out on the floor but made his way to the back seat before we were home. Murphy is such a diva so the hard floor must not have been providing him the comfort he needed.

After parking in the garage at home, Murphy and I made our way around to the front of the house where Annabelle and Nana Faye were playing sidewalk chalk. The instant Annabelle saw Murphy, she squealed with delight. Annabelle ran down the sidewalk to meet us and flung her arms around Murphy's neck. She then looked at him and said, 'Murphy, I am so glad you are here.'  I hope Murphy grows to love Annabelle as much as she loves him.

I had some work I needed to do so Murphy came in with me.   He did such a good job at settling under my desk on his bed. This doesn't surprise me at all because of all the time he spent working with the volunteers at Unum.

While we are dinner, Murphy hung out in his kennel with a couple of his toys. He didn't hate it but he didn't love it either. Right now we feel like that's what's best because Annabelle still drops quite a bit of food on the floor. Since Murphy cannot have any people food, this allows us time to get it completely off the floor before he comes out of his kennel.

Annabelle was super excited about having Murphy join us for her bedtime story. She was however a little upset that Murphy wouldn't be spending the night in her room.

Can Murphy sleep with me....please?!?!

Murphy seemed to make a smooth transition into his first night at his new home. He did have any issues using the bathroom and drinking water.

When it was time to go to bed, Murphy made himself right at home next to me on my pillow. I felt like we had a newborn because I woke up several times during the night because he was moving around on the bed to get more comfortable. All and all I think everyone in the Welch house did wonderful for our first night together.
All three animals...can you find them??
